Well, obviously I knew Savannah's birthday was coming up, seeing as I gave birth to her, but when I woke up this morning, I was a little shocked at the emotion that ran through me when I realized my baby was no longer a baby!! Savannah is 3 years old today. THREE!! Wow! This little girls is more than I ever hoped for in a child. Although she is the spitting image of me in almost every way and we tend to butt heads a lot, she is PERFECT! She is very, very smart, healthy, funny, sneaky, playful, caring, friendly, outgoing, energetic, sweet, mischievous, goofy, and just down right a great kid! Here is a little picture recap of how much Savannah has grown in the last 3 years!

Here is my precious angel the day she was born. 5 lbs 15.8oz
6 months old. Other than the horrible teething, this was a very fun age!
Savannah's first brithday! She started walking about 2 weeks before.
18 months old!
Her second birthday! She was quite spoiled in the presents department!

Saturday night Mari hosted a little get together in honor of Savannah's birthday and Bridget made Lasagna and Cupcakes! Savannah had a great time and although it poured it's ass off outside and she didn't get to swim, she was content with the cupcake and presents, like any little kid would be!
The past 3 years have been the hardest of my life, but they have also been the most rewarding. To see Savannah and how far she has come is just amazing to me. Being a Mom was NEVER something I saw in myself, I actually didn't really ever want kids, but Shawn changed all that. Seeing how much he loved kids and how much he wanted a baby of his own won me over. I couldn't imagine life without Savannah. Every morning when she wakes up and crawls up into my lap and kisses me and says "mommy, your my best friend" it melts me.
Savannah, you are also my best friend and you will always be!! I love you so much and would do anything for you! You are my world! Happy Birthday Baby!

I was already emotional talking about Savannahs birthday to my co-workers and now you brought me to tears all over again...You are a great Mom...i am so proud of you and Shawn and of course,Savannah...I love being a frannie...:) All my love...MoM

Sheila, That was so cool what you put up for Savannahs birthday. Brought back a lot of memories over the last 3 years. I do remember when you said you were never having kids and as Shawns Mom I was a little disappointed since I wanted to be a Grandma again. I am proud of Shawn and you and Savannah for being such a great inspiration to your lives. I know she has brought such joy to both of you and of course to us too. I know it is hard when Shawn is away but you all seem to keep it together and have adjusted to the Navy life...good thing since you will be there for a while...Luv ya all and glad Savannah had a good birthday.
