Costume Parade

Savannah's school, Bright Beginnings Morning School, or as you will see me refer to it as BBMS had a super cute costume parade for the kids this morning.  Savannah had a great time!  All the parents gathered in a circle outside and the kids walked around and collected candy from everyone.  All the kids were so cute and Savannah had a blast!

Video of Savannah talking!

Could it get any better?

*  Cold weather outside!
*  Flannel sheets on the bed
*  Trying on winter clothes from last year and they are a little too big!
*  Setting the thermostat for HEAT before bed
*  Hot Cup of Coacoa
*  Snuggly pajama pants with snowflakes on them

I LOVE WINTER!!!!!

Ok I know it's far from winter but can I just say how much I am loving this weather!!  YAY!!!

Savannah's Costume..

Here are some of the pieces of Savannah's costume this year.  I don't really know what to call her except freakin' cute!  I also have black and purple striped tights to go with this but figured I wouldn't show all the goodies..you will have to wait to see her all dressed up!

The Tu Tu I made thanks to some simple instructions from Mary!
Mini Tu Tu's to tie into her pig tails
Her black onesie with the awesome iron on applique!
(A little off center damnit!)
First choice of shoe wear..probably more comfortable of the two

Total rock star boots I would LOVE for her to wear, but we will see what she is more comfortable in!

Trick or Treat Bag...

I got a little ambitious this year and decided to make almost everything for Savannah for Halloween.  This is the cute trick or treat bag I made her today.  I got a halloween napkin from Dollar Tree and it works great because it is a thicker material so it feels like a canvas bag.  It turned out so cute and next year I believe I will be making some to sell!  =)
(The photo looks washed out but the material is actually very vibrant against a black background!)

Happy Birthday To Me!!

So, today is my birthday and I am 26 years old.  I was going to go into this long drawn out blog about how it feels to be 26 and what I have learned in my 26 years, but really who gives a crap!  I am who I am and those of you who know me know what I am about, plain as that.

I did wake up to a pretty amusing husband.  I think he was more excited about my birthday then I was.  7:30am Shawn was whispering happy birthday into my ear and kissing my cheek, he was also telling me I had cards to open and that I needed to wake up so I could open them...I was less than thrilled to have to wake up, but I had somewhere to be anyways so I went ahead and woke up.  I had lots of cards from family and got some great gift certificates and money!  Savannah got me the final season of Gilmore Girls which completes my series and Shawn got me concert tickets to see Sugarland!!  So excited about this because they are one of my favorite bands!  Yes they are a country artist..hey I am from Texas what do you expect!?

Bridget has Savannah for the evening because Shawn and I went out together tonight.  We are back home and we both feel like crap!  I think we might be catching whatever Savannah had..hopefully not but who knows.

Savannah is actually doing a lot better today.  She still has a nasty cough but she wasn't nearly as lethargic as she was yesterday.  Hopefully tomorrow will show even more improvement and maybe she will get her appetite back because she hasn't really eaten ANYTHING in 3 days.

But anyways, that's it, my birthday was great, just wanted to share!!  =)

So darn busy...

This past week has FLOWN by!  There has been a lot going on around here so I figured I would give you the run down..

*  Shawn has one of two comps this morning for his PNEO class he has been taking for the past 6 weeks or so.  He has been studying a lot so I am sure he will do fine.

*  Savannah isn't any better.  I have been giving her the meds from the doctor but her cough is to the point where it is not only gagging her, but making her throw up.  She was so darn pitiful yesterday, more lethargic than usual and she just looks sick.  Her eyes are red and watery, her nose is red from being wiped all day long and there is usually dried snot from ear to ear when I don't catch her nose running to wipe it.  She broke out in a low grade fever last night before bed so I gave her Motrin, let her stay up later than usual and then she went to bed VERY willingly!

She is doing ok this morning but I don't think she is much better other than not having a fever at the moment.  I might have to take her back to the doctor today...we will see.

*  Wednesday I spent a good portion of the day calling a bunch of different schools, churches, and the like to find out who is doing fall festivals and allowing outside vendors.  Well I am happy to say that there are quite a few we have signed up for over the next few weeks.  Last night Christyi and I set up shop at Kingsland Elementary school from 4-7.  It was worth it seeing as Mary (who couldn't be there because she is going to Disney today..lucky B****!) and I both made back our small vendor fee plus some!   Saturday, Christyi and I are setting up outside Trade Winds Coffee Shop here in Kingsland.  There is a new church that has opened in town and they are hosting an event there and have asked some local home based businesses to participate and we were one of them!  So come out to Trade Winds on Sat. and check out all the goodies!!  We are also doing Sugarmill Elemenary school and King Of Peace but I will update about those later!

*  Savannah is going to be a punk rock princess for halloween!  I am making her a tutu in purple and black and I got some really cute purple and black stripped stockings.  A black onesie and super cute bows will call her outfit complete.  I think she will look adorable and since Claire is the same thing only in pink and black....they are going to look great together!!

Well I have to get back to taking care of my baby.....bye!

Such a fun evening!

Tonight some of the wardroom wives and myself met up at The Sweetest Things for coffee.  My Birthday being on Saturday we did a sorta combined happy birthday to me and social get together.  It was so much fun!  I am so excited because Mary made me a new bag and I LOVE IT!!! I also got some other really great things along with the bag!  We moved our little party outside and enjoyed some oh so yummy cupcakes that Mary had made for me...Lemon Cupcakes with Raspberry Frosting!!!  My birthday is officially off to a great start!!!!  =)

Update on Savannah...

We took Savannah to the doctor today and to our relief she only has a cold.  Her chest sounds clear and her snot is clear and she has not been running a fever, but her cough is horrible!  She has a lot of congestion to the point where it gags her when she coughs.  She is on a decongestion medication so hopefully that will bring her some relief soon.

On another note, Claire was diagnosed with pneumonia today.  Her and Savannah have very similar symptoms but poor Claire has been running a fever.  She is on antibiotics now and hopefully she makes a speedy recover, along with Savannah!

Poor Savannah...

Savannah has been very lucky to not be a sickly child.  She has only been sick a had full of times and thankfully nothing major.  Well she is sick again and I feel so bad for her.  She has a very raspy, juicy cough where I can tell she is coughing something up, but rather than knowing to spit it out, she just swallows it...yuck!  I feel back because I can't explain to her that she needs to cough it up and out because I know if I do then anytime she coughs she will spit!

She woke up a little while after we put her to bed tonight crying her eyes out!  I know she feels miserable and it kills me that there was nothing I could do but hold her and tell her she would be ok.  I eventually went and laid down with her in her bed until she was settled enough for me to leave.  I know I won't sleep good tonight because I will be worried about her.

On top of the cough she has a very snotty nose which is making it hard for her to breathe.  We have a Dr. appointment tomorrow at 2pm so hopefully they will be able to give us some good drugs to make her feel better.  I am going to hold her from school tomorrow so she doesn't get any other kids sick.

I am pretty sure what ever it is that Savannah has is something that is going around because her little friend Claire is also sick with all the same symptoms as Savannah and she is going to the Dr. tomorrow also.  Wish our girls a quick recovery so they can get back to their usual bubbly, cheerful selves!

Royal District Market...

For you locals out there, Mary and I will have a booth at the Royal District Market in Kingsland tomorrow. It's on Lee Street right after the BBQ place. It's not a very big thing, but there will be some neat vendors there. We'll also have some of Crafyti Christyi's stuff and can take orders for her as well. Hope to see you there!

Forgot to mention...

I always get tickled by the random animals that we find at the zoo that aren't in cages, lizards, frogs, random birds...silly I know but whatever.  Well yesterday I was less than amused by what I damn near rolled over near the ant eater exhibit.  I got within maybe 2-3 feet of a 6 foot snake that was laying in the concrete.  It scared the crap outa me that I screamed and backed up as fast as I could!  There was a family of 3 looking at the Ant eater and when the mom saw the snake she started running and screaming "there's a snake..HELP!!"

All of this happened in the blink of an eye and with both me and the lady screaming the snake, I kid you not, Jumped, like WE SCARED IT, and slid back into the bush it came from.  Well when I got far enough away I turned around to see the snake come back outa hiding and about the time the Zoo Attendants turned to corner to come and check out the snake, the one person almost stepped on it.  They were busy talking to each other not even paying attention to where the snake might be and I was saying "there it is!!"  and when the idiot woman looked down she was within a foot of it and jumped backwards.

The Zoo Guy was all "Oh it's just a Rat Snake, it's not venomous"  Like that was suppose to make me feel better...maybe if I had been bit, but it didn't help with the fear factor!!

The snake scurried off into more bushes and wasn't seen again, but that was more of an encounter than I bargained for!!  Sheesh...I told you it's never a dull moment around me!

Wonderful Weekend

- Friday night started off our weekend.  We went to River City's for a bit of shopping and had dinner at Panera!  Shawn and I have not been eating out as much here lately so it was good to go out for dinner.  I went to Michael's and bought more ribbon because I am crazy, went to the dollar store and bought another spool of ribbon (told you I was crazy), and we went to walmart to get a few things we needed.

-  Saturday morning we were up way too early to get ready for the garage sale.  As usual the people were haggling over every little damn thing and although it was hell, we had a great turn out and sold a lot more stuff!  Everything that didn't sell we will be taking to good will because even though we have enough stuff to have yet another garage sale, I don't think you could pay any of us to go through that again any time soon!! Plus mine and Mary's weekends are pretty full for the next few weeks!  The rest of the day Sat was spend playing inside with Savannah.  The kid went on a coloring spree and spent over an hour going through all of her coloring books coloring!  It was pretty cool.

-  Sunday we pawned the kid off on Mary and Justin and hit the road to do some shopping in Jax.  There were a few key places that I wanted to hit and one of them turned out to be closed on sundays (hobby lobby) and one was going out of business and didn't have anything (babies r us).  But Shawn suffered through yet another Jo Ann's trip and we made our weekly Target trip amongst a few other stores and ended our outing at the cheesecake factory for a slice of OMG delicious raspberry lemon cheesecake!

-  This morning we got up, again too early, and headed to the Jax Zoo!  Savannah has been talking about the zoo so we decided to take her again.  She is so funny because after every animal we saw she would say "bye (insert choice animal), soon!"  Which is her way of saying see you soon.  She was also much more interested in knowing what more animals were and what color they were.  She amazes me everyday with what she learns!!  Although we have been to the zoo many times, we have yet to let her ride the carousel, until today.  I really thought she might freak out or get scared, but that kid could not have been anymore in heaven!!  She got to ride the "raff" and daddy rode the horse next to her!  She had a blast!

We, of course, fed the "raffs" and she giggled the entire time because of the "raff's" tongue.  She loved it!  She also very much loves the little goat petting zoo.  I have to admit those little pygmy goats freak me out, but whatever, Savannah was in goat heaven!  She would of stayed there all day if she could, Shawn had to physically pick her up to get her out because she kept running back to them to brush them.

Over all it was a pretty good weekend!  As I was leaving Savannah's room tonight she said to me "Daddy ride horsey, Nanna ride Raffs!"  It was so cute that she remembered that!  It's little things like that that melt my heart!!  =)

Time for an actual update...

*  The past 2 weeks leading up to this past Saturday were absolutely CRAZY!!!  Ok well if you ask Shawn I am the one who went crazy!  I had so many projects and bows that I knew I just had to get done before the Rock Shrimp Festival that I worked all day every day to the point where Shawn had to cut me off a few times and make me go to bed.  Even though I was stressed out beyond capacity it was worth it.  This past Saturday found us up at the crack of dawn and headed down town to set up our booth for the day.  The weather couldn't of been better, although we are going to have to re think the way we display our bows because we had just layed them out on a table and the damn wind kept stealing them at random times!  It wasn't so much fun chasing bows as they blew away, so we are going to come up with a better solution for them.  We had a lot of fun selling all the cute stuff we made and giving out business cards.  We all agree our location at the festival could of been better but nothing we can do about it now.  There are 2 more events this month that I will be checking into and hopefully those prove to be just as much fun and successful as the RSF was!

*  I love this time of year!  I think fall is my favorite season!  I am so happy because yesterday I dug out all my yummy scented yankee candles and set them around the house and lit them!  I LOVE CANDLES!!  I love the way they make the house feel so warm and cozy!

*  I don't remember if I posted this or not but I am going to anyways.  Savannah knows her entire alphabet!!  It is so awesome hearing her say all the letters.  I think her going to school has helped but to be honest I really think her watching Word World and Super Why has had the most impact on her vocabulary!  As well as her knowing the alphabet, her speech in general has just exploded!  She is actually starting to say full 4-5 word sentences.  It throws both Shawn and I for a loop when we can randomly have almost an entire conversation with her.  It amazes me how much she has grown and how she is not a baby any more!  Time for another one!?  HAHA ...NO!  =)

*  I think I have confused spring cleaning with fall cleaning because I have been on a super psycho cleaning spree!!  Monday morning after I dropped Savannah off at school I tackled the master bathroom and went so far as to get out of my chair, sit on the floor with a bottle of 409 and a roll of paper towels and clean the entire floor, base boards, quarter round, cabinets, front of the tub, and every little nook and cranny that I could reach while I was on the floor!  While the bathroom is still ugly as sin, at least it is super clean!!   I also dusted and swept everything in the living room and dining room and cleaned the windows.  Yesterday I scrubbed the kitchen down!  I haven't done the floor but while Savannah naps I will probably get down on the floor and scrub, scrub, scrub!!  I love a clean house and I am actually enjoying cleaning it this time!

*  Halloween is coming up fast and I don't have a clue what Savannah is going to be this year.  I kinda wanted to make her a cute little purple and black witch costume, but don't know if I will have the time or skill to make her one.  I just hate the run of the mill, cheep target or wally world costume special.  I LOVED her costume last year and knew I would have a hard time topping that this year, and so far no luck!  Hopefully my creative side will kick into full gear and I can pull something together that will be super cute!

* We have put more stuff up on etsy so go and take a look!  =)

I was tagged...

Ronee tagged me so here we go...

Here are the rules:
1. Link to the person that tagged you.
2. Mention the rules.
3. Tell six quirky yet boring, unspectacular details about yourself.
4. Tag six other bloggers by linking to them.
5. Go to each person's blog and leave them a comment so they know they've been tagged.

1. I love Kraft Macaroni and Cheese..seriously I think I could eat it everyday and not get tired of it

2. I love having a clean house but don't clean nearly as often as I should.  But when I do get the cleaning itch I go all out to the point that it drives Shawn crazy!

3. I spell things with my tongue on the roof of my mouth.  Don't ask..it's an OCD I have and don't even realize I am doing it half the time until Shawn says to me "what are you spelling?"

4. I really want to be one of those people who are on the go all the time, but I really love nothing more than spending the day inside being lazy, but with a 2 year old those days are few and far between!

5. I have 6 cavities that I found out about before we left Dallas over 3 year ago and haven't been to a dentist since.  I should probably do that soon!

6. As random as I am, I enjoy a schedule. But I have horrible time management!

I am tagging Amy and Coty!  Have fun!

Bubble Mania

With the weather being as nice as it has been we have been able to spend a lot more time outside.  Savannah LOVES her bubble machine!  Even if she is not right there playing with it she likes it to be on when we are outside.

Check out my demonic looking dog trying to eat the bubbles!!  Shelby goes crazy trying to eat bubbles!
Such a big smile!
Cheese!!

Enjoying Downtown St. Mary's

One night last week we decided to go have dinner in downtown St. Mary's and walk around the water front park afterwards.  The weather was gorgeous!  Shawn, to my surprise, had never been down there.  That's right, we have lived here for almost 2 years and this was his first time to eat at River Side Cafe (Mary and I eat there quite often) and go to the water front park.  I think his only experience in downtown St. Mary's  was when his parents and grand parents were here for Savannah's first birthday and we went to eat at Sterlings.  Anyways, we had a great time and Savannah had fun playing in the fountain, watching the boats, birds, and crabs!

Bringing Gardening to a Hault...

Shawn got a wild hair one Saturday morning and decided to go pull up all of the dreadfully ugly plants in our oversized flower bed.  After having almost everything pulled up and seemed to be in the clear of any creatures, he came upon this.  I don't know what kind of snake it is but I am hoping it is just a gardner snake or something non poisonous because it disappeared into the siding of the house by the garage!!  I was not too happy about that but nothing I can do about it now seeing as I am the one telling Shawn "no don't kill it!"  He shoulda killed it because now I think it is living in my walls...ewww!!

Rock Shrimp Tomorrow!!

Mary and I will be at the Rock Shrimp Festival ALL DAY tomorrow!  We have a booth and will be selling hundreds of super cute bows and lots of lovies and burp cloths!  Come out and take a look and say hi to us!!  We are sharing our booth with Christi who does all of the embroidery work for the dolphin store and she will be taking orders and have items on display.  Her stuff is super cute and great quality!  The weather should be gorgeous so we are really excited about it!!  =)

We will begin listing more stuff on our website after the festival so be sure to check it in the coming week for more cute bows and stuff!!
