Ultrasound Pics...

It's a GIRL!

I had my 18 week anatomy ultrasound yesterday morning at 9am. My mom was in town and by a lucky chance, so was Shawn!! So they were both able to be there as well as Savannah. It was awesome! I have been a little worried the past few weeks since I still am not feeling the baby move and I am still not showing, but all my worries were laid to rest when my baby came up on that screen. It turns out my placenta is in front which is why I am not feeling anything right now. Everything looked good. She is weighing 8 ounces and looks beautiful. We got some neat ultrasound pics and once Shawn scans them I will share them.

We were all pretty certain that I was having a boy, so when the lady said "it's a girl" we were all shocked and silent. Then we saw it for ourselves and the tears began. I wanted a girl so bad, but had come to terms that I was having a boy and was fine with it, so when she said it's a girl, I started to cry because I was so happy! I really wanted a sister for Savannah, and I got it!

It was pretty amusing having Savannah in the room. I know she really couldn't make out what was on the screen but she was amused none the less. I think she got more of a kick out of the jelly they put on my tummy. She was like "it's like the jelly on my toast!?" lol. I said no, it was belly jelly, so we could see the baby. lol But, it was awesome having all of them there to share that moment with Shawn and I. I am very grateful for the way the timing worked out, and I am more grateful for the new precious little girl growing in my tummy.

Now that we know it's a girl, we can commence with the grueling task of thinking of a name! =)

Big Sister....

Yesterday I had an OB appointment and took Savannah with me. I was a little nervous seeing as she can be a little wild, but she did great!! We were there for an hour and a half (way too damn long) and she was content watching movies on my phone and eating her snacks. I had been explaining to her that she was going to go to the doctor with me because the doctor was going to check the baby in mommy's tummy. Savannah got very happy about this. She loves babies! So, when the nurse midwife came in I sat Savannah near us so she could hear the heart beat too. She was really cute and even though I know she doesn't fully understand what is going on, it was awesome to include her in something so special! She kept asking the NMW to put the microphone back on my beebo (belly button). lol.

She will be going back with us when we do the 18 week ultrasound so that will be really neat to see her react to being able to see the baby on the screen! =)
