Our Christmas in Nebraska!

Ok so seeing as it is almost Feb. I am a little late in posting about Christmas. We got to Nebraska less than 2 weeks before Christmas and were planning on leaving the day after to go to Dallas to visit my family, but things did not work out that way. We were not going to put up a tree or anything but decided that Savannah needed some sort of Christmas Tree so we found this little pre-lit tree at target on clearance and put it up with a few ornaments. She actually loved it!

Moon Sand!!

She really enjoyed it!

So because we were suppose to leave after Xmas, we decided that Santa would be cool with us leaving him a piece of cake that was already made instead of cookies!

Christmas Morning: Savannah was one spoiled little girl!

And we are the lucky house that catches the snow drifts!!

Yep, notice the house across the street..NO SNOW!! Our house..SNOWED IN!! Needless to say, Shawn had to shovel his way out and then went out a bought a snow blower!

p.s. That's Shawn's new truck! Honda Pilot!

We arrived......

After a fun week in Missouri we finally headed to our final stop....Nebraska. As we entered the state I had to take a picture of this sign because it actually made me laugh! "Nebraska...the good life" hahaha! Sorry, but I just find that a bit amusing! :snickers one more time:

Ok, so anyways, upon entering "the good life" (hehe) we headed straight to the base housing office to sign paper work and get the keys for our new place. Was it that simple?? Hell no! Dealing with those people in housing has been a night mare and a roller coaster from day one! We got there and they told me that we needed an appointment to see the house!! WHAT? They couldn't of mentioned that in one of the million conversations I had with them regarding everything?? I had told them less than a week ago the time and date we would be arriving and asked how long the paperwork would take so we could make sure we were there in time and all that. Idiots!

So that left us looking for a hotel close to dark in an unfamiliar city COVERED in snow!!

Luckily my in laws had already been here and kinda scoped the area for us and we found the hotel that they stayed in. The thing that sucked is that Shawn got pretty sick that night and still had to deal with unloading the car and helping Savannah and I into the hotel because it was pretty icy.

Then we had to be back at housing at a little before 8am to meet with the lady to show us the house, which meant Shawn had to wake up hella early and load the car back up. Our household goods were being delivered that morning which is why we had planned on just camping out in the house for the night so we would already be there when the moving van showed up!

Needless to say, arriving SUCKED!! I cried a lot that night and the next morning because I was so emotionally exhausted and frustrated with how stupid people could be and how much I couldn't believe we were in NEBRASKA!!!

In the end it all worked out, we got the keys for our house and our stuff was delivered the same day. I kept trying to tell myself that this is only temporary and to make the best out of it, an so far I have!

The most important thing is that my husband is going to be home with us for the next two years and that is all that matters!!

Final Stop before Nebraska!

St. Louis Missouri was our last stop before arriving in Nebraska. We haven't been able to get back here since Savannah was 4 months old, so for most of his family, this is only their second time seeing Savannah and, needless to say, she is A LOT different! We were all very excited to be going and that we were able to stay for a week!! Savannah had a blast being spoiled by grandma and peepaw! Here are some (not nearly all) of the pics of our stay in MO!

Savannah and Grandma making Christmas Cookies!
We took Savannah to Monkey Joe's. We didn't have anything like this in Georgia and I sure wish we would of! She had a blast!
She went down the biggest slide! It took a try or two before she would go all the way up, but another little girl was helping her and once she went down it, she was hooked!
Savannah with Great Grandma and Grandpa Chase! (Shawn's grandparents)

Loving on her PeePaw
Savannah was introduced to static in the worst way!! Her hair pretty much stayed like that the entire time we were there! lol
Aunt Donna reading a bed time story to Savannah

And I got a VERY big surprise in the form of a BABY SHOWER!! I was under the impression that we were going to Grandma Chases house for a lunch with the rest of the family, little did I know what was planned!
I had to share this picture because it was made by Uncle Andy's Fiance Beth! (Aunt Beth!) It is beautiful and I love it!!
Of course I have a million pics from the baby shower that will be uploaded to Facebook!
Savannah requested that Aunt Beth make her a scarf, and when we saw her the next day, she had one for her! Savannah LOVES this scarf and it is so stinkin' cute!!
Uncle Alec with Savannah. I don't really have any words other than you had to of been there to be laughing your butt off at them two!!

So, as I have said, this isn't nearly all the pictures I have, but I will upload the rest onto Facebook when I get a chance.

We had a great time in Missouri with Shawn's parents an family and are really excited to live so much closer to them for the next two years! =)
