Tumbling Pictures....

Savannah is still enjoying going to tumbling class once a week.  It is great to let her burn off all that wild girl energy and a great chance for her to socialize with other kids her age.

Celebrating a day late...

Shawn happen to miss Savannah's birthday by a day this year, which isn't too bad and Savannah doesn't know the difference at this age.  So, Monday evening after Shawn got back from work we pulled out Savannah's presents and let her open them.  What a difference from last year watching her tear off paper and pull her presents out of the bags.  She had a blast!

Savannah counting her presents...."Nine...Six....Two..."
"Little Miss Hollywood!"
She got more Dora stuff than I know what to do with!!
Her Thomas train tracks!

Happy 2nd Birthday Savannah!!

Savannah Addison Vrabel is 2 today!  When I woke up this morning I was hit with this rush of emotion when it clicked what day it was.  I got kinda choked up when I went into her room and gave her a big hug and told her happy birthday.  I am kinda surprised by how emotional this day has been for me.  My sweet little baby isn't going to be a baby much longer, she really isn't a baby anymore as it is.  Savannah has grown so much in the past year, both physically and mentally!  Savannah weighs about 25 pounds, her clothes are anywhere from 24 months to 2T, depending on the brand.  Her feet are still really tiny and she is still in a size 4 shoe.  I am not sure how tall she is but I know she is about average for her age.  Savannah is talking quite a bit.  She is still not speaking in sentences, but can say enough words to communicate what she want/needs pretty well.  Her personality is growing and expanding everyday.  Even though she knows how to test the limits everyday, I wouldn't trade a second of it for anything in the world.  I am very much looking forward to the next year and can't wait to see what it holds for my little girl!

Back to Phase One...

*  It's really frustrating how I worked my ass off to loose 6 pounds in about 3 weeks and how in one week that Shawn is home I can put on 2!!  It is so easy to diet and eat what I want or when I want and skip meals if I am not hungry, but when him home it's not as easy.  So at the risk of not gaining back everything I lost, I am going to go all the way back to phase one of South Beach and have absolutely no carbs for 2 weeks.  I have 10 more pounds to loose and I am dammed and determined to do it.

*  I can't even begin to explain how much I love my daughter.  I adore night time because it is when we go into her room and I get to lay in bed with her and read to her.  As she is getting older she is able to interact more and more with the different books we read.  She is also able to tell me which books she does not want to read and say yes to the ones she does.  While reading books, she randomly leans over and gives me hugs and it just melts my heart.  When we have finished reading our 3-5 books and give all our hugs and kisses, she actually continues to "read" more books in the dark in her room.  She will also sit and read in the mornings for god knows how long before she gets out of bed and knocks on the door to let me know she wants out.  I hope she continues to let me read to her for a long time, or at least until she can read to me!!

*  Savannah and I are going with friends of ours garage sale hunting tomorrow morning!  We are getting up super early and hitting the sales!  I am on the look out for a few particular items and I hope I can find them!!

*  Hello, my name is Sheila and I am addicted to SHOPPING!!!  I really have a problem!  The thing is, I am addicted to bargain shopping!  So very rarely do I spend a lot of money at once, but I do tend to spend a little bit all the damn time!!  I really need the weather to cool off so we can spend more time outside at the park instead of inside the stores!!

*  My daughter is going to be 2 on Sunday and I seriously can't believe it.  I feel so blessed to have Savannah in my life. She is such a wonderful little girl and I can see so much of myself in her.  Shawn and I plan to expand our family in the near future, but in the mean time, we are going to soak up every second of Savannah because she won't be a baby too much longer!

*  I am over summer already and need fall to get here!

*  I am tired and going to try and get to bed before 1 tonight!!

Stuck on Repeat..

Savannah:  Mommy, Mommy
Sheila:  Yes Baby
Savannah:  HI!!
Sheila:  Hi
Savannah:  A doing??
Sheila: Nothing what are you doing?
Savannah:  A TOES!!  or  A SHOES!!  (while pointing to either thing)

Over and over and over!!  I think we go through this same conversation at least 50 times a day.  At first it was so freakin cute, now it is bordering on annoying!  I love that she is talking, but I am ready for her to expand her vocabulary beyond this particular sequence!!

Awww..they are so cute, are they twins?

Anytime Mary and I are out with the girls we get asked this ALL the time!  The funny thing is that they just assume both girls are Mary's.  I guess it isn't possible for one of them (or both) to be the girl in the wheelchairs'.  Well I couldn't resist putting them in matching Jammies when Claire was over while her parents went on a date.

Now why would anyone think that!? I just don't see it!  =)

What a Croc!

"Why would anyone spend that much money on a pair of shoes that the kid is going to out grow in a few months!!??"  That was my thinking when I saw any little kid in Crocs.  "I won't ever get Savannah any Crocs, that's just stupid"  Well it's funny how things change and how stupid I was to think that they were not worth the money.  I finally broke down and had Mary pick me up not just one pair, but 2 pairs of Crocs from the Croc store in Jax!  Let me tell you how much I LOVE these shoes!!  They are not only cute as hell, but Savannah loves them and can put them on and take them off by herself which is wonderful since she is in the "I need to do it by myself phase!"  These things are great and I wish I was walking so I could buy a pair for myself!  So I completely stand corrected in the little kids and Crocs department!!  YAY for Crocs!  =)

It's Tuesday...

*  Why are some people so damn clueless?  Why can't they think about what they are going to say before it just blurts right out of their mouth?  How long am I going to have to put up with the bullshit before I snap and go off on them!?  Seriously!!

*  Shawn came home for a little while after being gone for weeks.  It was great!  He did, however, leave again for a very short while and we are both looking forward to him coming home for good....until the next run of course.

*  I took Shelby and Roscoe to the vet on base today and I had Savannah with me.  Can I tell you how much fun that was!  Savannah wasn't even the problem, it is my freak ass dogs that want to get all of us tangled in their leashes!!  The people there are really nice and some huge guy in uniform helped me out of the clinic because it was packed and Roscoe wasn't budging because he got scared..silly dog!  They both checked up fine for the most part.  Shelby is fat, Roscoe has a strange growth on his nose, and both of them could use dentals.  Shawn is going to be so thrilled about all of this...money, money, money!!

*  My baby is turning 2 in 5 days!  I can't believe it!  It seems like just yesterday she was turning one!!  My closet floor is filled with all of the random gifts I have gotten her over the past few months!  I still have to go get her a few "bigger" gifts and decide if we are going to have a little party or not.  Originally we were not going to because we were going to be going to St. Louis, but since that isn't happening anymore, we might have a small get together with some of our friends and Savannah's friends.

*  For anyone who doesn't understand, Shawn is in the Navy.  Unlike regular jobs, the Navy owns you.  They tell you when, where, and what you can and can't do.  There is no way around this, it's just how it is.  If you want to go out of town, you have to get permission from your command and even if you have permission, they can, at the last minute, take it away from you.  It is hard a hell to plan anything because schedules fluctuate so much you pretty much have to do things at the last minute and sometimes it just doesn't work out for the best.  We were planning a trip to St. Louis to visit Shawn's brother before he goes overseas with the Air National Guard.  Because we were having to book the tickets last minute because Shawn's schedule changed so much, the tickets themselves were going to be around $1200!!  That does not include what we would pay for baggage there and back, boarding all 3 animals while we were gone, and possibly having to pay to board the car at the airport.  If you add all of this up we are probably getting close to $1500 or more.  If we could plan a trip with a little more time we could get the price down to around $700 which is actually doable.  It sucks to have to once again disappoint family because of the Navy.

*  Savannah has been eating her lunch for over half an hour now.  Seriously why is she eating so slow!!  Every time I think she is done and I ask her she says "no" and takes another bite!  If I haven't said it before, feeding this child is one of the most stressful events ever!!!

*  Why do I love Mac and Cheese so much!?  I seriously could eat it everyday!  Of course that is one of the foods that is a trigger food for me so I have completely cut it out of my diet.  I can't just take a bite or two, I could sit and eat an entire box!!  I feel like shit afterwards, but it wasn't enough to stop me from eating so much!  Maybe one day I can enjoy Mac and Cheese again, but not anytime soon!!

*  "Knock, Knock, Knock....MOMMY!!??"  Is what I heard at 7:21 this morning!!  I heard it and looked at my cell phone thinking it was about 8 and time to get up and when I saw 7:21 I was like are you freakin kidding me!!!???   I refuse to get her out of bed before 8 unless I am already up or we need to be somewhere.  I wish I knew what time she actually got up because she tends to play in her bed for god knows how long before she actually gets out and knocks on the door.  I am dreading the day she learns to open doors!!  I don't want her in my face at 7am saying "Mommy...HI!!"  Errrrrr!
